Serving Those
Who Serve Us

Assistance for F+B workers during times of crisis.

Giving Crew

Restaurants Care is a nonprofit fund that provides direct relief grants to food and beverage workers in California. Grants cover basic needs like groceries and rent while people recover from illness, injury, natural disaster, death in the family, and more. We helped over 1,900 F+B workers and their families since 2017.

How We Help

We provide up to $2,500 directly to F+B workers experiencing illness, injury, natural disaster, or death in the immediate family.

Our History

Restaurants Care is a program of the California Restaurant Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that has been serving the community since 1981. We created a safety-net for food and beverage workers in 2017 and a safety-net for small restaurant owners in 2021. Restaurants Care provides hope and stability to those at the heart of California’s vibrant food and drink community.

Equator Coffees + Chef Tyler Florence

I’m a chef and restaurant operator. In 2017 when fires devastated wine country I teamed up with Restaurants Care® to help. They are on the frontlines helping to preserve our California food culture by helping the workers at the heart of our food family. By coming together in this crisis, we can serve hope to those suffering and get through this.”
